Welcome to our third-generation home building company, with a family tradition more than 75 years in the making. In its latest formation in 2003, Collins Home was established by owner and president Evan Collins, who learned the home building craft from his grandfather. We specialize in crafting exquisite new homes for both local residents and newcomers to Nova Scotia.

Family Legacy

Our legacy in home building traces back to 1947 in Guelph, Ontario, where Collin’s grandfather, Melvin Reid, along with his brothers and a friend, established Reid and Laing Limited. The company quickly gained a reputation for superior home construction, thriving as a prominent name in the industry. In the late 1970s, the second generation of Reid contractors honed their skills, constructing homes in southwestern Ontario.

In the early 1980s, part of the family relocated to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where we continued upholding the tradition of high-quality home construction.
